Grief isn’t one-size-fits-all. Neither is our urn.

Fill Your Orbit Urn in 5 Easy Steps

If you feel comfortable filling the Orbit urn yourself, follow the guidelines below. Otherwise, you can request support from friends, family, or your funeral director.

Before you begin, please gather these supplies:

  • Orbit urn with clasp
  • Paper or cloth
  • Funnel with a moderate-width spout
  • Strong adhesive (preferably porcelain glue)
  • Your pet's ashes
  • Paper towel

  1. Place paper or cloth on a flat surface.
  2. Turn the Orbit urn so the bottom faces you, revealing the opening. Set it on the paper or cloth.
  3. Open the bag containing your pet's ashes. Insert the funnel spout into the urn opening.
  4. Gradually pour some ashes into the funnel, gently shaking the urn to distribute them. Repeat until the bag is empty or the urn is full.
  5. Apply adhesive to the outer edge of the urn opening. Carefully position the clasp on it and press firmly. Immediately wipe away any excess with a paper towel. Allow at least 10 minutes before turning the urn upright and placing it in your chosen location.

If distributing your pet's ashes among multiple Orbit urns, simply repeat the process for each urn until complete.

With a helper, one person can hold the urn at an angle while the other pours, allowing more ashes to be added at once. Still distribute carefully and avoid overfilling the funnel to prevent spillage.
